The best sources that I could find are these (wikis), but if anybody can track down and/or translate any of the sources that these wikis provide I would appreciate it. A better choice might be to use the same icon that the Western Roman Empire is using but with a purple background, since the West was nominally ruled by Emperor of Constantinople and a part of his empire. I get that this isn't Europa Barbarorum, but using the double-headed eagle to represent Byzantium at the start of Attila would be like using the French Tricolor to represent France at the start of M2TW.ДЄ few alternatives for CA to consider could involve the Chi Rho, an eagle, or a mix the two. The double-headed eagle was not adopted by the Byzantines until the Palaiologos dynasty in the 13th century almost 800 years after the start date. I'm looking forward to Total War: Attila, but this choice as the sigil for the Byzantines is bothering me.
